I didn't bring the camera to our Thanksgiving, but we had a great celebration with friends and lots of delicious food.  So, forgive me, but this is the only photo I have right now, crooked glasses and all.

I'm grateful for so much- friends and family always. Good communities that are there in good times and hard ones, with conversation and food and company. I'm thankful for living in a city with great theater and music and restaurants and of course, the coffee. I'm thankful that Chris and I are both excited about our jobs right now. I'm grateful that we have found such great educational communities for our kids, even when they're not perfect. I'm thankful that no one in our family has any broken bones right now.  I'm thankful for growth and changes, and taking a minute to reflect. I'm so grateful that I found my way to the Religious Society of Friends, and that even when they drive me crazy, Quakers are there inspiring me to be a better person. I'm thankful for the books and the yarn that are my constant companions, and for the ways that technology can help us all stay connected.

Happy Thanksgiving Friends.

Thankful

Our Quakerly Co-housing potluck Thanksgiving went so well. There were about 50 of us, pretty much equally divided between adults and kids. There were people from our Quaker Meeting, and another nearby Meeting, people who live in the Co-housing space and assorted friends and neighbors. We had toddlers and teenagers and grandparents and everyone in between. And so much amazing great food that everyone had a full plate.

Even with so many people, we were able to go around and take turns giving thanks. Health, friends and family were popular ones but we also heard thanks that the election was over and one kid gave thanks for the human race.

But mostly we kept hearing this space. These people. This community.

So so thankful.

Thanksgiving and Tree

We had Thanksgiving at Hilary and Dan and Felix's house again. We had so much amazing food and Felix's cousins, Cassandra and Natasha were there so the kids had their own table this year. We have so much to be thankful for this year so it was great to celebrate that. Today, I busted out the Christmas decorations (and music) and we set up the tree. It's such an amazing experience for me, to have Unity help me put on the ornaments; the Czech beadwork ornaments that were made by my Great Grandma May, the embroidered yarn ornaments that were made by my Great Grandma Avril, the felt and ceramic ornaments that were made by my Grandma Rene and the painted dough ornaments that were made by my mom the first year she was married, plus all the wonderful ornaments that friends and relatives have given us over the years. I feel so connected by all this love.
