a little update

Chris has been home for about a week now.He is doing very well. We have a hospital bed and a wheelchair for him in the basement and he has been able to get himself around. He has been doing physical therapy and
he has even taken the city bus to work twice. It takes him about an hour and a half
but he likes the chance to get out of the house.

At our last doctor visit, they removed his arm cast and gave him a brace. The doctor said that Chris was healing well and if it continues at this rate, he may be able to be on crutches around Thanksgiving. This is really amazing, since I had expected it to take much longer.

Grandma Cindy is here and staying with us for a bit. She is basically co-parenting with me right now which is a huge relief and very helpful.

We continue to be showered with love and support and meals and help, from near and far.

I have such immense gratitude, to know such good people.

Please send love

Chris is in the hospital with a broken arm and pelvis after a biking accident coming home from work last night. He's doing ok but he's going to have surgery, perhaps more than once, and who knows how long of a recovery.

Please uplift our family in love and healing.

We miss Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Bill

Grandma Cindy and Grandpa Bill came to stay with us last week for Brixton's birthday. We had such a fun time with them and did so many projects I can't even list them all. The house is quieter without them. Well, maybe not, but less constructive for sure.

Thanks for the great visit guys.

Yarn along- Taproot hoodie

I'm knitting the Fawn hoodie pattern from the most recent Taproot magazine. I like it and it's coming together pretty well.

As for books, I'm reading Quakers in Conflict by H. Larry Ingle , which is an interesting piece of church history, and for fun I'm reading Angelmaker by Nick Harkaway which is a steampunk adventure story.

Linking with Ginny for lots of reading and knitting loveliness.

Four

He makes a duck face when he's angry. He has a large cast of imaginary friends and sings Happy Birthday to each one. Every night he asks us to build a bird nest out of the blankets in his bed. He's got music in his bones. He's my song-maker, my story teller, my fancy dancer.

And today he's four.
