Covered in glitter and crumbs. Waking up to maracas and fairy wings. Pockets full of rubber bands and dandelions. Buried under book piles. Dirty hands with homemade kombucha. Coffee in the rain. Waiting for that sacred scrap of silence.

Happy Birthday to me, and to you
So for the first time in a long time my brother and I were together on our birthdays- we passed the celebration baton at midnight just after he had played a show in Seattle with his lovely band Social Studies. Even though they were here for less than 24 hours we still managed to squeeze in some celebrating and dancing and even pancakes. Cheers for another year.

So glad you were able to "share" your birthdays. You don't know how much we wish we'd been there too. And we would have gotten a picture of the two of you together!
Glad you were able to celebrate together. I sure wish I could have been there too!
