My good friend Amanda was here for a few days and she and Unity share a delight for cute shoes with mismatched socks, among other things. Amanda might move here to do a post doc so cross your fingers for me, cause that would be lovely.
Covered in glitter and crumbs. Waking up to maracas and fairy wings. Pockets full of rubber bands and dandelions. Buried under book piles. Dirty hands with homemade kombucha. Coffee in the rain. Waiting for that sacred scrap of silence.

faces
Unity recently told me when she's older she wants to be "someone on a stage." Here she is practicing her faces. FYI, I was calling out emotions and she came up with the faces herself, also this whole thing was her idea.

swinging, victory, gourds
Well Brixton loves the swings! also, the Seattle Storm won the WNBA Championship!!! We went to the victory parade outside the arena. I don't have any good action shots of the parade but you can see Unity holding the rose she gave to Sue Bird. Such an amazing season from an amazing group of women. Also, it's harvest time and we have 35 pounds of squash. Pie time anyone?

First Day
Ok it's been a bit quiet here these days. There was a changing-of-the-seasons bug that worked it's way through our house. But that's mostly done now. And.....it's one of those milestone days. Where you remember your little tiny baby and how you can still think of her that way. But here she is starting preschool, PRESCHOOL, today. My enormous child, sniff sniff. (She is so excited!)

DIY preschool
Hanging out at our neighborhood kid-friendly coffee shop is always great. We met up with Sophie and Cooper and their moms, and also another mom who has three girls. She and I are both at this coffee shop so often with our children in tow that we've become friends by default. On this particular day, the kids were getting loud and it happened to be sunny so we took them across the street to the playground. We looked like our own little preschool!
