We are all recuperating from a nasty little stomach bug that hit us this weekend. But today I'm feeling thankful for my overall health, in that way that only the first day of recovery can give you. Along with that, in these short dark days of winter it's so nice to have a few splashes of color. So here is a primrose and a (slightly sickly) geranium from our windowsills.
Covered in glitter and crumbs. Waking up to maracas and fairy wings. Pockets full of rubber bands and dandelions. Buried under book piles. Dirty hands with homemade kombucha. Coffee in the rain. Waiting for that sacred scrap of silence.

Unity's story
There was butterflies and flowers growing with the mom's children just growing up. There were very much children in the whole world and very much mamas. There was a christmas tree and lots of people got presents even the babies did. They were taking a walk and then there was a monster and the monster ate all of them up. They escaped and the other mom who didn't get eaten up cut a little hole and let them out and they hided in their house with no windows and no doors. They jumped on their roof and the whole house broke. Then they all disappeared.

ready to rock?
In case you had any doubts, Brixton has been reminding me a lot today that he's a toddler now. He ate a handfull of dirt from a houseplant (yum!) He unrolled the toilet paper (helpful!) He refused to take a nap and when I tried to help him to sleep, he held on to the side of the crib and jumped up and down. Yup, totally a rock star toddler.

We found ways to party with our new toys, party with the laundry basket and party with Meridian and Archer and their papa. Hey whatever gets you through January right?
