These are old pictures, from a sunny day on the beach.
Covered in glitter and crumbs. Waking up to maracas and fairy wings. Pockets full of rubber bands and dandelions. Buried under book piles. Dirty hands with homemade kombucha. Coffee in the rain. Waiting for that sacred scrap of silence.

Party Dress Day
While she's no Michelle Obama, Unity likes to dress up for certain days. Yesterday we went back to Tougo, the neighborhood coffeeshop where we watched the election results, to watch in inauguration on the big screen. Unity got to wear her "christmas dress" again, and hang with Hiram, Zoren, Alexa and Sophie.

back to the usual
Hello. Our lives here are just not as exciting as they were in Chicago, so we have less photos lately. Sorry about that. Here are some shots of Unity dressing up and reading her new book "Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed" with Papa. Oh and after more than a year of attending, I finally officially joined my Unitarian Universalist church this past Sunday. Here I am being ingathered.

turnip smells like good
We are back home in Seattle, having had a lovely time in Chicago with family and friends.
One of the first things we've done has been to see how the garden has survived the snowfall. Luckily it looks like the only casualty has been the leeks, which were pretty far along anyways. So we havested all the leeks, as well as some rutabegas and turnips for dinner tonight.
Oh, and Unity has pronounced: "Turnip smells like good!"
