Covered in glitter and crumbs. Waking up to maracas and fairy wings. Pockets full of rubber bands and dandelions. Buried under book piles. Dirty hands with homemade kombucha. Coffee in the rain. Waiting for that sacred scrap of silence.
Unity had her first ice cream at the historic Petersons, read books with Grandma Ann and Polly and Michael meet up with cousin Lauren and other family members for brunch.
A few months ago, we bought Unity a party dress on sale. It's been hanging in the closet and every day when we went in to pick out her clothes she would ask to wear it. She would talk about the sparkles and call it "pretty" and every day we would talk about how it was her Christmas dress and she could wear it on Christmas. So she started saying "Christmas dress! Can't wear it." Well, lo and behold, the day finally came when we said, "No no baby, you _can_ wear it." Hope you all enjoyed your holiday finery and festivities.
Just in case you happen to be home with a toddler and record snowfall after your holiday travel plans were rearranged at the last minute, you might want to check out this and this
The recent snows have transformed our neighborhood into an urban park. There are few cars out and about, especially on the steep hills, so the streets have been turned into sledding slopes. Folks have turned the plastic advertisements on busses which are stuck in the snow into sleds. Here are a couple of videos and some pictures from the top of our street.
Thank you, thank you to the many family members who contributed to a lovely Christmas gift for Unity. The dollhouse is such fun, Unity has literally not stopped playing with it all day.
This weekend we went to a party hosted by Unity's friend Gabriella "Gabe". As we were leaving we noticed the snow- our first of the season! Unity has a special winter fashion sense, check it out but make sure you credit who started the style when you steal it.
Unity, being a child of the 21st century, often wants to push any and all buttons that might be around. After getting very upset after being denied Internet access, we decided to give her a keyboard of her own.
