Signs of...

I took down the birthday decorations and put up the Easter ones. It's actually fitting since many of them were given to me by my grandmother who recently passed. We often had Easter at her house when I was a kid and I have good memories of these little rabbits and eggs.

The tulips are out- I love love love them. The colors are just what I need, even after a mild winter like this year. I grow them and I also buy them, I just can't help myself.

Happy Easter

We have had such an amazing weekend. It's been gorgeous and sunny, the first
line drying of the season. We took the plastic down off the back door and dyed eggs
on the porch. Later on, we went to our Easter egg hunt and potluck for our Quaker Meeting and got to hang out and watch the kids search for their treasures. Such a perfect day to linger and be reminded of rebirth and renewal.

Our Easter Weekend

We had such a lovely weekend. The sun was out. Friends were frolicking.
Sugar was coursing through our veins.

Some friends of ours from Meeting have a house out in Kingston.
Washington, not Jamaica. They invited us all out for a potluck
                                 egg hunt.
Brixton forgot what he was hunting for. The big kids got him
                                  back on track.

Then everyone spread out on the lawn to inventory their loot.

Then we went to the beach. Chris and I decided we're ready
                                 to retire to Kingston too.

Today we went to Meeting for Worship. In keeping with Quaker
tradition, we have the same kind of silent unprogrammed Meeting
we always have, nothing is different for Easter. The idea is that you
should feel and act the same way on "ordinary" days as you do you
                                  holidays.

Nevertheless. We decorate and get dressed up. It's a middle ground
                                 I guess.

I made this too. Not our ordinary dinner.

Spring Break

This week Unity's school was on Spring Break. We had lots of playdates with our friends at the kids museum and the zoo, we dyed eggs, we had a shoe store and we helped celebrate Reuben's birthday. Sorry this is so long, I meant to do a couple of smaller ones earlier in the week but you know...two kids all week long! We were just too busy.
