We've had such a lovely weekend. Thanks to a discount from my brother's job, we got a new couch!

I'm super excited about it, and if you've ever sat on our old couch I bet you're excited too.

 

 

Unity decorated foam flowers and glued them to headbands.

                                         Brixton made Lego trucks.

                                      We listened to these guys....such a good rainy Saturday afternoon album.

                                Chris fixed the electrical system on his new/old scooter. It works!

                                Brixton cuddled with baby Wumpy. 

and now there's squash soup simmering
and the kitchen is warm and smells good and the kids are playing together without fighting and
all's well with the world.

this weekend

 

This weekend we got to hang with our pals Reuben and Cooper. Chris showed them the scooter he is working on, and then he showed them a completed scooter in the yard. After all the hustle and rush of new school and new people, it was nice to spend some time with folks we've known for so long. Because what is more relaxing then just being able to be yourself with old friends?

 

 

August Appreciations part 4

12. Blueberry cornbread muffins. So yum, especially with the tons of sweet juicy berries that are at the farmers market right now.

13. Chris's ability to look at our old doors (that he took off the formerly dank basement closet) and envision a work table. Now he can putter with his scooter parts in ergonomic peace. Gotta love living with an engineer.

14. Unity has branched out with the pattern blocks, and decided she doesn't need patterns. She'll make her own. Love that girl's creativity.

15. Brixton reading to Papa. "and den da wabit, he goed to da house."

16. The gorgeous weather we've been having. Hot,sunny, beachy summer weather. Of course the weather report did say that Seattle summer has now peaked. But we have been soaking it up.
