Sarah and Mike's Wedding

Today we went to one of the most original and funny weddings I have ever been to. Our friends Sarah and Mike got married at a beautiful farm in Fall City. Sarah was the director of Religious Education at our church the past few years and all the kids were her flower children. Sarah and Mike's theme was "goat and bear" each representing one of them, and an actual goat was the first to walk down the aisle. When it came time to present the rings, the best man searched his pocket but could not find them. Suddenly, Sasquatch appeared bellowing and holding the rings. Mike chased after him and finally tackled him, raising his arms in victory. Then Sarah and Mike exchanged their vows. Unity had a blast being a flower girl and she really liked hanging out with Sasquatch after the ceremony.

Social Studies!

Social Studies came through Seattle on a little West Coast tour this week. We had a nice time coloring, reading, swinging and climbing with them. Check out the portrait Tom did of me and Brixton!

10 Months Old!

can you believe it? 10 months old already. He is crawling, pulling up on stuff and eating Os. What a big kid!

how Seattlites deal with the "heat"

I know, I know. The rest of you are dashing for the air conditioning, and dunking your heads in the lake and whatever else you do where it's really hot. But in Seattle, where summer is lightly 80s, we put washcloths on our heads and go to the beach.

A lucky find on Craiglist, paired with some advancements on Brixton's part, led us to a weekend of furniture moving and satisfaction. We had been talking for a while about getting a bunk bed for the kids. Up until this point, Brixton was still sleeping with us, in his Co-sleeper. I won't go into the mechanics of bed sizes and discussions of such, but we decided that Unity should stay in her room, Brixton could stay in our former room (the purple room) and Chris and I would move to "the yellow room." This weekend we found a great deal on a sturdy used bunk bed and were were able to dis and re assemble, with great results.
